PLANNING
Your Council would like to thank all those who took the time and trouble to write to their MP
and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister regarding the planning problems created by the wording of PPG3, legislation designed to create more affordable housing mainly in the South East.
A number of planning applications for this area are still unresolved. These include Orchard
Service Station, 1, Station Road, Aislaby Road and South View. This Council has commented on and/or objected to all these proposed developments.
As always, we will keep a keen eye on all future planning applications

A Message from the Chairman
Is it eleven years since I was last chairman? How time flies.! For those of you who do not know me, my
name’s Sue Ireland and I have lived in Eaglescliffe
some 34 years. My two sons were both educated here and, like a stick of rock, I have Eaglescliffe in my body
from my head to my toes! I work part-time for a local charity based in Middlesbrough and I am
secretary of the “Yarm & Eaglecliffe Good Neighbour
I couldn’t do half of what I do without the support of my husband Peter.
Times have certainly changed from when I first
became a Parish Councillor, some sixteen years ago and I am amazed at how active we have become.
There are thirteen of us in total, we are your
neighbours, friends, even relatives and have the parish of Egglescliffe at our heart.
As our area appears to be the place to live at the moment, many of you are concerned over the vast changes that
us know!
I look forward to carrying out my role as Chairman and will endeavour to represent you to the best of my ability in the year to come.
Sue Ireland
